Ski touring | Chamonix | France
Join us on ski tours on Europe’s highest mountain, Mont Blanc.
Book nowThe Chamonix Valley and Mont Blanc are perfect areas for great ski tours. The area is breathtakingly beautiful with spectacular glaciers and wild nature. Ski touring is a great way to access nature, as it is meant to be. The place is huge and there is plenty of terrain to explore and that is exactly what we will be doing on our ski touring trip to Chamonix.
Together with our local mountain guide Tobias, we make sure to give you an amazing nature experience.
We will stay in Chamonix the first and last night. One of the days we go out and spend the night in a cabin out on the mountain. Around the area there are plenty of refuges where we can spend the night along the journey. A “refuge” is a cabin where everything is ready for us, both bedding and a cook who is ready with a good meal of home-cooked food.
Everything is reasonably accessible thanks to the excellent lift system and we can quickly get out into the snowy wilderness.
We walk on average between 800-1200 meters in altitude. The trip is only intended for skiers at an intermediate or advanced level.

Chamonix is a city with approx. 9000 inhabitants. The city is located at the foot of Mont Blanc in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of southeastern France. Chamonix is often called the capital of mountaineering. The first Winter Olympics were held here in 1924. Chamonix is located in the Arve Valley (French: Vallée de l’Arve).
Chamonix is located approx. 1037 m over sea level. The river Arve flows through the valley. On the southeast side of Chamonix is Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in France and Western Europe. The Chamonix area borders the Aosta Valley in Italy (through the Mont Blanc tunnel) and Martigny in Switzerland via the Col des Montets pass (1461 m above sea level).

We love Chamonix, so we have several different trips there. We have, among other things, a trip where we aim to try the legendary Vallée Blanche descent. Read more about that trip here.
Last but not least, we have our flexible trip where you can go throughout the season, from January to March, in the period that suits you. Read more about that trip here.
We stay in a cozy hotel located right in the heart of Chamonix. The hotel has both a bar and a bistro, and the chef makes sure to spoil us with local specialities.
In addition, we live in a “refuge” on the mountain. Here we get to live a little bit smaller and in bunk beds – but that is also part of the pleasant experience together!

Ski touring in Chamonix is another one of DBP Adventures’ tours that offers unique experiences. The area is the perfect touring destination with great opportunities to tailor the days to level, preferences, and, most importantly, snow conditions. If conditions allow, you can cover a lot of ground in just a few days and both ride first lines in deep powder and tour through forests and along glaciers, where you get to experience beautiful sunrises over the dramatic high mountain peaks when you overnight in one of the area’s mountain huts. The entire tour is led by a local mountain guide who is highly skilled and inspiring.
