Corona lockdown has taken a toll on many families and although most families have had plenty of time together, it is also a time that has been characterized by stress and many conflicts. It’s important to get out and feel each other again and get fun and active experiences home in your luggage.<\/p>\n

In recent years, DBP Adventures has organized family surf camps in France<\/a> with great success. The water has a very special effect on both young and old and provides many good experiences. Our surf camp in France takes place in teepee tents, so you are very close to nature and each other.<\/p>\n

We continue the success and this year have also organized a surfing get-away<\/a> for families in beautiful Ericeira in the surfing paradise of Portugal.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\t

We have teamed up with the Danish national team surfer Emilie Uttrup, who lives and trains daily in Ericeira in Portugal. Emilie suffered an accident a few years ago and surfing became her way back to life. Emilie is not the only one who has found love on the water and found the joy and peace that surfing brings.<\/p>\n

We would like to pass this on to families with children and inspire them to a more active everyday life, even when they get home. Emilie is an inspiration, both with surfing as a leisure activity, but also as a sport. The Danish Surfing and Rafting Association has invested a lot of resources in getting more young people on the water, so that we can become a fantastic surfing nation. TV2 Zulu has already shown us the way with a documentary about the national team surfers and created inspiration for the young.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t

Active experiences<\/h2>\n

The emphasis is on surfing at our get-away, both for beginners and experienced, but also other active activities in the area. A way where the family can be together in a different way and be able to take the elements home with them in everyday life.<\/p>\n

At our surf get-away in the cozy town of Ericeira, we have made sure that there is something for everyone in the family, both those who want to surf, but also for those who want to try other active experiences. Of course, there is also room to laze around for a few days and just do nothing, which we all need from time to time.<\/p>\n

It will be possible to go out and climb with an instructor, mountain bike around the mountains or try SUP (Stand Up Paddling). There are also plenty of exciting and sometimes challenging hiking trails around the area.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\t

The primary purpose of the vacation is to have fun by the pool, drink good wines from the vineyards in the neighborhood and enjoy locally grown produce. Every day we go out surfing with talented local instructors and there is something for both the beginner and the experienced. If you don’t think you’ve been active enough during the day, in addition to the swimming pool, there is also a skate ramp at the camp.<\/p>\n

Our camp has 6 double rooms (with room for 3 people) and 4 apartments with room for 4 people.<\/p>\n

Our small get-away surf camp is located between pine forest, palm trees and orchards and it is 100% rural idyll. However, we are not far from the beach and some of the best surf spots along the coast and of course the cozy village of Ericeira. Ericeira is a charming Portuguese fishing town that, with its fantastic surfing beaches, has turned into a surfing mecca. Ericeira is a perfect blend of Portuguese heritage with an ultra-cool surfer vibe, where traditional fisherman’s huts sit among cozy lounge bars and cafes and the town is known for its delicious seafood. Ericeira is only 50 km away. north from Lisbon.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\t

A good beginner and intermediate town with sandy beach and land swells that come to the coast in nice sets (What are land swells?: We don’t have a sure translation for swell in Danish. But swells are born from storms far out at sea, which create waves with a lot of energy which allows them to travel far.They come in nice sets and about the same size that spread out well to the beach and are perfect for beginners and intermediate surfers.<\/p>\n

\ud835\uddd6\ud835\uddfc\ud835\ude05\ud835\uddfc\ud835\ude00:
\nCoxos is Portuguese and means “sharp stones”. Coxos is, according to Emilie and many locals, the best place to surf on the entire coast.<\/p>\n

Here there is an opportunity for a long and fast surfing wave for the more experienced. The place is full of rocks and just getting in and out of the water is a matter of patience, but totally worth it. In addition, the waves can be up to 10 feet, that is around 3 meters.<\/p>\n

\nMatadouro is the perfect spot for beginners and intermediates – with shallow water and consistent reef breaks. It is also where our instructors go if the wind and conditions are right.<\/p>\n

And then there is the secret spot for intermediate surfers, which of course we won’t reveal yet, you will be introduced to it in Ericeira by Emilie \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
