Ski holiday for the whole family to the winter paradise Nassfeld

By DBP Adventures

A ski trip where there is room for all kinds of skiing. We know how difficult it can be to combine family life with the good off-piste trips that you previously had plenty of time to go on. Therefore, we have arranged a trip where the whole family can join and everyone can get exactly the skiing they want and still have plenty of time to be together and vacation!

Nassfeld is a little gem that is a great choice for families who want to combine off-piste skiing with a lot of family fun. In Nassfeld there is room for the whole family and for all types of ski levels. There is room for both those who want to go out and are challenged on the off-piste, but also for those who want to be on the piste. The area is known for its snow safety and not least its many hours of sunshine – which is a perfect combination for a skiing holiday with the family.

It’s no secret: it’s absolutely fantastic to be on a skiing holiday with the whole family. On our Nassfeld trip, we give you the opportunity to combine a family skiing holiday with off-piste and piste skiing. We give your children the opportunity to learn to ride safely to the ski school. The ski school gives your parents, older siblings, grandparents etc. the opportunity to spend a few hours alone out in the mountains, on the off-piste or on the piste while the children get a fun and educational experience.

Of course, there is also the opportunity for the adults to get lessons on skis. You can always develop yourself and your level by taking some skiing lessons, whether you are a beginner or a more experienced skier.

“Getting a few hours for yourself on the mountain allows you to ski a lot off-piste and really experience what Nassfeld has to offer in the off-piste.”

We have a mountain guide with us on the trip and the mountain guide shows all the cool off-piste slopes. During lunch, there will be the opportunity to eat together and then have quality time by going out and skiing together again.

For us, it has been super important that everyone can get the skiing they want on their skiing holiday and therefore this trip is the perfect holiday for the whole family, as you get a mixture of a cool off-piste skiing and a lot of fun for the whole family.

SKI HOLIDAYS ARE THE BEST FAMILY HOLIDAYS

Most of us know that… The joy, well-being and new energy you get when you play sports and are active in nature. You get inspiration and motivation to get better or learn something new.

When we ski, we meet and share experiences together. This happens quite naturally, because a fun activity is done together. This is perhaps one of the very best things we can do for ourselves, but just as much for our children.

Most often in everyday life, family members practice different sports separately and it is rare to have time for each other in a hectic everyday life. So it is often a much-needed respite for the whole family to go on holiday abroad, where the days are completely different than at home.

On a ski holiday, there are plenty of opportunities to be together about the activities and thus get experiences and develop to an extent we are not allowed to do on a daily basis. It is cozy in the snow and the presence of people you care about.

During the day, you get a lot of new energy added to the body due to the light and the fresh air you get on the mountain. When you get home and the darkness falls, you can talk about the day’s experiences, over the hot cocoa or over a card game.

The ski holiday is therefore the best family holiday if you are hungry for fresh air and common activities.

WORTH KNOWING ABOUT NASSFELD

Nassfeld is located in the sunny part of southern Austria, right on the Italian border and is one of the sunniest areas in the Alps. Because the ski resort is so close to Italy, it is therefore possible to ski into Italy. You can thus get a mixture of both the Italian and Austrian charm and you therefore also get the opportunity to taste dishes from both cuisines.

In winter, Nassfeld is in the top 10 of the best snow and ski regions in Austria and you can therefore expect a lot of snow in this region – more precisely 7 to 8 meters on average every winter.

A family paradise

The Nassfeld ski resort focuses on families and children, so there are many family-friendly offers. There are, for example, many children’s areas and exercise slopes that suit the whole family.

There are also some ski lifts that are specially made for families with children. You enter through a separate entrance, so you and the children are safe and where everyone enters smoothly into the lift.

That’s why Nassfeld is a real family paradise.

The slopes of Nassfeld

There are a total of 110 kilometers of slopes in all levels of difficulty and there are 30 lifts that take you around to the various mountains and slopes. So there is something for everyone, from beginners to experienced skiers or snowboarders.

Most slopes are wide and groomed, so you can get really good, big turns and long slopes downhill.

There are 30 kilometers of blue slopes, which are the lighter slopes. There are 69 kilometers of red slopes, which are the slightly more challenging slopes. Last but not least, there are 11 kilometers of black slopes, which are for those who really want to challenge themselves.

Nassfeld also has some fun parks and snow parks where you can try tricks, jumps or freestyle. There is a fun park / snow park for both children and adults.

Time for a break

When you rush down the slopes, there are also countless cozy mountain cabins, and culinary delights, which are perfect for a well-deserved break if you just need to recharge your batteries before taking the next piste.

Evening skiing in Nassfeld

Nassfeld also has evening skiing every Saturday in January and February, where you can stand on some selected slopes after dark. Trying to ski under a clear starry sky in the mountains is definitely something that can be recommended.

NASSFELD – OFFPISTE PARADISE

There is nothing like the feeling of freedom you get when you go out and ski in the off-piste and you are only a few seconds away from going downhill through the snow.

There are many good off-piste areas in Nassfeld and therefore Nassfeld is high on many skiers and snowboarders.

Nassfeld is a snow-sure ski resort that has everything the “off-piste fools” dream of. It is long slopes, narrow tree passages that create an extra tension. Jump from rocks / cliffs that give maximum time in the air before landing in the soft snow.

The best thing about it all is that it does not take long to get up to the off-piste slopes. You can hop on one of the many gondolas or lifts that take you up to the off-piste descent.

On our ski holiday in Nassfeld, we have local mountain guides with us, who show you the best off-piste slopes and where the best and deepest snow is. We are divided into levels so that both the experienced off-piste skiers and beginners in the off-piste can participate.

Nassfeld is a little gem that is a great choice for families with children and “off-piste-crazy” who want a ski holiday with quality and coziness, first and foremost. The area is known for its snow safety and not least its many hours of sunshine – which is a perfect combination for a skiing holiday with the family.

A central location in Nassfeld

In Nassfeld we will stay together at Hotel Franz Ferdinand. The hotel is right by the lifts and for the kids it means a lot that it is not too difficult to get to and from the ski terrain. The children and partly you adults, will not be completely run out before you have reached the hill or home. So there is a lot of energy that can be used on skis or for evening fun!

In Nassfeld, the children’s slope and the ski school are centrally located on the mountain, so you can ski in slopes and off-piste slopes near the children’s slope. This means that you can follow along the road and see the children’s proud smiles as they whiz away down on the skis.

A skiing holiday for single parents

There may be some challenges associated with traveling the world alone with children. At home you know where there are things at your local supermarket, the usual routines are there, the kids have their playmates and there are some to ask for advice if something should happen. When you travel, everything is new and you have to do everything on your own. Therefore, a week can be long when you have to be a parent, tour guide and have time to relax before the hectic everyday life returns.

So if you are a single parent going on a skiing holiday with your children, there are many benefits to traveling on our Nassfeld trip. There will be a lot of other families with children, and there will also be a Danish guide on the trip (who also speaks English). Your children and yourself get like-minded travel companions and ski enthusiasts to share experiences and memories with. It is also possible to have the children at ski school so you can go a lot or rest if you need to.

Community

Every day breakfast and dinner are eaten together at the hotel and our Danish guide will make sure that all families get to know each other. It will therefore be a good atmosphere, togetherness and a lot of new friendships that will grow between your families.

Ski school for children & adults

On our ski trip in Nassfeld, it is possible to get the children to ski school with a ski instructor. Getting instructions from a trained ski instructor can help give the best start and create security for the children if it is the first time they are skiing. The ski instructors are good at teaching the children to ski, through fun activities and games. So the kids always have a party when they’re in ski school!

Of course, it is also possible for the adults to get some ski lessons, so it is everyone – whether you are a beginner or experienced – who can develop your level to new heights.

The ski lessons can also give your parents a few hours alone in the mountains, where there are good opportunities to drive a lot of off-piste or piste kilometers.

Discover the off-piste with a mountain guide

In addition to the opportunity to stand on some delicious groomed slopes. Then our local mountain guide takes the “off-piste fools” on a trip. Our guide shows you the very best off-piste slopes and shows you where the deepest snow is on the mountain. There will be off-piste slopes to all levels that you can try. There will be plenty of opportunities to develop your off-piste level as you get a lot of off-piste skiing even if you are on holiday with the family.

Nassfeld therefore has something for everyone, both the “off-piste fools” or those who like a well-groomed piste.
