A catski destination in northeastern Turkey, close to the Georgian border. Just 50 km from Bakhmaro – a place many freeriders already know. The base is located in Yayla in the Yalnızçam Mountains.

The area is known as one of the snowiest regions in Turkey, with large amounts of light powder and long, varied runs.

Here, you’ll find open terrain, couloirs, and forested areas – all with minimal crowds and plenty of opportunities to draw your own lines.

Our experienced and certified mountain guides ensure a safe setup and guide you through the terrain, so you get the most out of your days in the mountains.

This is catskiing in its purest form – far from people, close to nature, and full of adventure.

Catski in Turkey

Turkey might not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of skiing, but that quickly changes once you experience the mountains in the northeastern part of the country.

Our catski area is located in the Yalnızçam Mountains near Yayla, close to the Georgian border. The base sits at around 2,000 meters above sea level and is surrounded by peaks reaching up to 3,000 meters. The combination of altitude and climate provides stable snow conditions throughout the season.

The terrain is varied, but mainly open, with an average slope angle of around 25 degrees. In addition, the area offers:

Couloirs in different levels of difficulty
Longer, wider runs down through the valleys
Forested areas that work as a backup when visibility is low

Typical runs have a vertical drop of 500–600 meters, and on many days you’ll finish with longer descents of up to 1,000 vertical meters.

Accommodation in Turkey

You’ll stay in cozy wooden bungalows in Yayla – right in the mountains and far from everything.

6 nights in twin rooms (single room available at an extra cost)

After a day in the snow, everyone gathers in the shared lounge/restaurant for briefings, relaxation, and stories from the day.

The place is run by a local family, and the food is a highlight in itself:

Unlimited Turkish tea

The final night is spent at a hotel in the center of Kars, where the trip is rounded off with a good dinner.

Getting to Turkey

Flights are not included in the price. You should fly to Kars (KSY), followed by a transfer of approximately 3 hours to Yayla.

Day 2-6

Breakfast buffet(07:30–08:30)
Catskiing and skiing (approx. 09:00–15:00)
Day 1: Avalanche and safety training (2–3 hours)
Skiing takes place in varied terrain with: Open slopes and steeper sections (typically 25–35 degrees) and couloirs in different levels of difficulty
The area offers: 3 large valleys with more than 20 km² of terrain, untouched lines – only our group in the area & plenty of variation, so no two days feel the same
In case of bad weather we’ll move to a more sheltered, forested area with better visibility
