When you only have one long weekend to spare each season, you want to make it count. The goal? Maximize your time on the mountain, ideally in fresh powder, without stressing over whether the conditions will deliver.
In this article, we dive into our tried-and-true concept: chasing the best snow across borders with a flexible itinerary and local knowledge – and we’ve also spoken to Johanna, one of our guests who joined the Powder Hunt trip to Innsbruck in early 2025. She shares why she chose this type of adventure, and offers a solid piece of advice for anyone considering doing the same.

What’s the Powder Hunt in Innsbruck All About?
Our Powder Hunt concept has been a favorite ever since we first launched it back in 2022. And year after year, we’ve managed to score incredible conditions – even when it didn’t look promising at first.
On this trip, our base is Innsbruck (we also run a version in Slovenia), but each day we head out with our local mountain guide Michael to wherever the snow is best – across Austria, Italy, or Switzerland.
The beauty of this setup is the flexibility. We’re not tied to a single resort or area, so everything depends on the weather and snow forecasts. And with Michael’s deep local knowledge, we’re always in good hands – he knows all the hidden gems most skiers never hear about.
The trip is exclusive, with a maximum of five guests per guide. So if you’re a group of friends wanting your own tailored adventure, just reach out since we easily can arrange something just for you.
What Skill Level Do I Need?
You don’t have to be a seasoned off-piste pro to join. As long as you’ve had a taste of powder before, you’ll be good to go. The days are adapted to fit the group, making sure everyone gets the most out of the experience – regardless of level. Still not sure? Feel free to get in touch with us and we’ll help figure out if the trip is right for you.

“We just wanted to ride as much good snow as possible” – Johanna shares her experience
Johanna and a friend of hers have made it a tradition to take one long weekend trip together each ski season – and they always aim to make the most of those few days. So when they came across our Powder Hunt concept, it felt like the perfect match. Their main goal? Find the best snow.
Here’s what Johanna had to say when we asked her a few questions about the trip:
What made you decide to go on an off-piste trip with DBP Adventures?
“We’re two friends who get one long weekend a season to ski together – and what matters most to us is good snow and great off-piste skiing. So this concept really appealed to us because it gave us better odds of finding great conditions, all wrapped up in a package trip.”
What was the highlight of the trip?
“The skiing! Especially with the incredible guides we had!”
How did you experience the group dynamic and the vibe with the guides?
“There was such a great atmosphere in the group, we felt really well taken care of! Several people were traveling solo and quickly became part of the community. I also loved that there were group dinners planned in the evenings if you felt like joining – super chill and a fun way to hang out.”
What would you say to someone considering a similar trip?
“Do it! It’s such a clever concept and so well organized.”

Can I join the trip solo?
Absolutely. All of our trips are designed so that solo travelers have just as great of an experience as those coming with friends or a partner. As Johanna mentioned earlier, there were several people traveling on their own during this season’s trip – and they were naturally included in the group vibe from the start. That kind of welcoming atmosphere is one of the things we value most.
